Analysis of Carbon Fiber Industry Capacity in 2024

From 2019 to 2023, China’s carbon fiber production capacity will explode, with production capacity nearly quintupling in five years. In 2024, the growth rate of domestic production capacity will slow down, and new production projects will enter a cooling-off period.

By the end of 2024, the annual production capacity of domestic carbon fiber will reach 135,500 tons, with an additional capacity of 15,300 tons and a capacity growth rate of 12.73%. The main new capacity is concentrated in Shandong, Jiangsu, Hebei and other places. The new production lines mainly involve domestic T300 level, T700 level and above 12K, 24K and a small amount of high-strength and high-modulus products. The growth rate of production capacity has slowed down compared with last year, and the types of new capacity products have become richer.
